A secret two-year affair between a Zimbabwean border control officer and a police officer’s wife has exploded into public view after a dramatic fallout that ended in betrayal, heartbreak, and legal threats.

The affair, which reportedly began in 2023, involved Nhlanganisi Sibanda, an immigration officer stationed at Beitbridge Border Post, and Tafadzwa Sigauke, the wife of a police officer based in Gwanda. Things took a bitter turn when Tafadzwa ended the relationship, prompting Sibanda to retaliate by revealing their affair directly to her husband.

 

Sources say the relationship soured when Tafadzwa refused to return a laptop Sibanda had gifted her during their time together. Sibanda, allegedly obsessed and insistent on rekindling the romance, took matters into his own hands by confronting Tafadzwa’s husband with intimate details of their affair.

 

In an emotional statement, Tafadzwa described Sibanda’s actions as “immature” and driven by spite.

 

> “Honestly, Sibanda behaved like a child. We met in Gwanda, and he pursued me. He gave me the laptop, and I told my husband I bought it on installment. No one discovered our relationship—he told my husband himself.”

 

 

 

The revelation has caused severe strain in her marriage, with her husband reportedly furious and now considering legal action against Sibanda. Despite the controversy, Tafadzwa stands firm on keeping the laptop, claiming she needs it for her studies.
