Rabat, Morocco – The 2025 Karate 1 – Premier League has commenced in Rabat, Morocco, with an “exciting first day” of competition already in the books, according to an update from the World Karate Federation (WKF). The event is bringing together top karatekas from around the globe to compete in various Kumite and Kata categories.
Early brackets released by the WKF reveal the intense competition taking place. In the Female Kata category, competitors such as T. D’Onofrio (ITA), K. Mishima (JPN), S. Kokumai (USA), and A. Cruz (POR) are vying for top honors. The brackets also show the progression towards the final and bronze medal bouts, with some familiar names and emerging talents.

For the Kumite categories, the competition is equally fierce. The Female Kumite -55kg division sees athletes like R. Mukai (JPN), M. Stoli (GRE), T. Yakan (TUR), and L. Abouriche (ALG) advancing through their respective matches. Similarly, in the Female Kumite -50kg, competitors such as S. Bouberbane (FRA), A. Ouikene (ALG), A. Bifulco (ITA), and G. Izaguirre (ESA) are battling it out.
The male Kumite divisions are also well underway. In the -60kg category, D. Timraliyed (KAZ), E. Samdan (TUR), Z. Aly (EGY), and T. Sordia (GEO) are among the competitors. The -67kg division features athletes like A. Elsawy (EGY), A. Omara (EGY), A. Ghaith (JOR), and M. Oezdemir (GER). Lastly, the Male Kumite -75kg category includes competitors such as T. Bulut (TUR), H. Pitsul (UKR), B. Wilkins (ENG), and O. Yurur (TUR).
