VL Exposure Initiative: Hon. Gyan Urges Youth to Pursue Their Dreams

HON. JOANA GYAN CUDJOE'S TEACHER INITIATIVE: A TESTAMENT TO HER COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION IN AMENFI CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY

The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has encouraged the youth not to abandon their dreams but to remain committed to building their future with determination and creativity. She made the call at the VL Exposure Initiative seminar held at the Accra British Council.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe stressed the importance of believing in oneself and never giving up on aspirations.

“When you have a dream, write it down and believe in yourself no matter what. Tell yourself that you can do it. If I can do it, then you can do it even better,” she said.

She recalled her own journey of drawing inspiration from reading books and watching interviews of accomplished personalities, noting that today she finds herself working alongside some of them. According to her, the only real limitation in life is choosing to remain stagnant without taking action.

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe further cautioned young people against wasting too much time on social media gossip and insults, urging them instead to focus on productive ventures that can transform not only their lives but also their families and communities.

“Somebody may be selling pure water on the roadside, but with creativity and innovation, they can add value and people will still buy it at a higher price,” she explained, encouraging the youth to start small and trust God to multiply their efforts.

Highlighting her personal contributions to youth empowerment, she revealed that she had purchased 2,000 sewing machines and 2,000 hairdryer—an investment of over GH¢5 million—to support women in her constituency who wish to become seamstresses and hairdressers. This initiative, she said, has provided over 4,000 people with vocational skills, creating a pathway out of poverty.

On government policies, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe praised current initiatives such as job creation schemes, Adwumawura, and women’s banking, noting that these programs empower citizens to become self-reliant.

She concluded by emphasizing the need for long-term governance to achieve lasting national transformation.

“Imagine the NDC in power for 50 years—Ghana will change. We don’t need only 4 or 8 years. What we need is real restructuring and nation-building,” she remarked.
