Confirming the arrest, Lagos Police Command spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that on April 25, 2025, a criminal gang carried out a coordinated theft, snatching a large sack of premium human hair extensions from a moving truck without the driver’s knowledge.
> “Acting swiftly on credible intelligence, officers tracked one of the suspects to the Marina car park under the bridge,” Hundeyin said.
“He sustained injuries while attempting to escape by jumping off the bridge and was found in possession of the stolen items.”
The suspect, identified as Austine (male), is currently receiving medical treatment under tight police surveillance. Meanwhile, authorities have launched a manhunt for the remaining gang members involved in the brazen heist.
Police Reaffirm Commitment to Road Safety
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers involved in the operation and reiterated the Command’s dedication to securing Lagos roads against criminal elements.
> “We are committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all road users in Lagos. We urge citizens to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station,” the Commissioner said.
The successful operation is a testament to the growing efficiency of the Lagos State Police in responding to emerging security threats in the metropolitan area.
