The move by the Labour Party to reposition its stronghold has been intensified by the recent resolve by its NEC to embark on membership drive,in preparation for the incoming National Convention,2025.This is coming at the heel of the party’s determination to enjoy massive winning ways come 2027.

In line with the LP’s constitution the NCC/NWC has made frantic effort to return the party to the path of law.The bringing to an abrupt end,through legal means, the lingering crisis in the party has returned normalcy,sanity,purity,stability and inclusivity to the warring factions of the party. The best omen being the ousting of Julius Abure from the LP by the recent Supreme Court judgement of April 4,2025. No victor;no vanquished!

The Formative Ideology of the LP will certainly be brought to bear in the affairs of the party. Trust Senators Nenadi Usman and Darlington Nwokocha-led NCC/NWC for living up to the expectation in repositioning the party,in line with the rule of law and the party’s constitution.The LP under its new leadership will regain its lost strength and glory under Julius Abure and take its rightful position in 2027 general election.The new leadership of the party is coming on board with the right leadership needed to cause to happen democratic rebirth at party level, particularly in the LP.The Labour Party is certainly on course to cause to happen democratic revolution in Nigeria.

While other political parties are fast witnessing a sharp decline and political implosion,the onus lies on the LP’s leadership to consolidate on its stronghold to return the party to the path of glory,laced with high level of membership growth and political stability,for the party to enjoy massive winning ways come 2027.

The LP,having survived the antics of the political intruders under the duo,Julius Abure and Peter Obi,and their political mercenaries,would soon dust up and take up its rightful position in the polity.The rain that drenched the rock had bathed it!They said:’the LP did not have any structure;the LP is empty’; also many who were chanting choruses of doom in the LP will soon find many reasons to have a change of voice,and begin to chant the chorus of praises by the time they will see more surprises being sprung up in the forward-looking LP.Yes!The cog in the wheel of the progress of the Labour Party had been removed on April 4, 2025 by the Supreme Court on the sack of the embattled Julius Abure,the former National Chairman of the party.

 

It is only a political neophyte that can quit the LP for the sinking PDP.As democratic cum political implosion is set to happen in the APC,I enjoin any future-looking and forward-looking politicians to find a home in the LP.The perceived democratic losses in those big-named political parties will turn as gains to the LP.While their trees will be withering of leaves,the LP will be swelling up in terms of membership base.The fall of APC and PDP will become the mysterious rise of and gains for the LP.

If the little-known ADC and SDP,that did not have Governors and members in the National Assembly,are enjoying the influx of defectors to their folds,the LP that has come to the limelight at the national stage as a national party,will certainly take the frontal seat among the comity of political parties in Nigeria soonest.While the PDP is fast witnessing sharp bulkanisation,with members getting chickened out in the SDP and the ADC,the LP will naturally become the chosen bride in the polity.

 

And when a certain political party is in the verge of witnessing incessant influx of many interest-seeking politicians in its fold,there seems to likely witness an implosion in such a party.That is exactly the case of the APC.The centre will hardly hold in the APC when the activities of the interest-seeking politicians in its fold crystallise.The clamour for one ticket by,let us put,50 aspirants will lead to political implosion in the party,with the resultant effect being massive defection to even lower mushroom political parties for relevance,mostly at the eleventh hour of the game.Is it not wise for us to stay put in the LP and maintain our relevance?

 

One thing that is of the truth is that the LP new leadership is getting it right in its leadership trajectory.Nothing will deter us from not reaching our promised land as members of the Labour Party.Nothing will serve as a deterrent to any waxing aspirant in the Labour Party as the house is wide enough to accommodate us all.As far as the LP maintains the right leadership at party level,all Tom,Dick and Harry in the party will enjoy the glory and fortunes brewing therein.We the teeming supporters of the LP only have to queue behind Sen. Nenadi Usman-led NCC/NWC to take the party to its Eldorado.

 

The turbulent political system we witness in Nigeria today will make the unpopular political parties and mar those popular ones.That is going to be the resultant effect of the spate of defection being witnessed in the big-named-but-empty-in-value political parties marauding with the yesteryears glory.The fading glory of those big-named political parties will be evident in 2027 by the time surprises in terms of winning ways are sprung in the LP. What is in stock in the LP will certainly outshine those dominant political parties of the day.Stay put in the LP.

 

Political implosion will evolve immediately the course of internal democracy is trampled upon in those dominant political parties,as the centre will not hold therein.The clamour for tickets by the interest-seeking politicians in their members will certainly lead to political implosion.Such effect will lead to the fractionalisation, factionalisation and fragmentation of the once dominant political parties in Nigeria,leading to their abrupt disintegration.

The running waters that meet in a filled water bank will find a space to continue flooding.And since they are not meant to remain stagnant,they must find their ways to flood to any desired destinations of their choices.That is going to be the case of the APC in the build-up to 2027 general election.So defecting from other mushroom political parties to the dominant political parties is like going to play a distant second fiddle.The best is to remain in the LP where your democratic interests and rights will be protected by its leadership’s strong resolve to uphold the sanctity and the course of internal democracy.
