Sule Lamido to Tinubu: Authoritarian Tactics Will Destroy Your Presidency

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has issued a stern warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, cautioning that the alleged use of federal agencies to suppress political opposition could ultimately jeopardize his presidency.

Speaking to journalists in Birnin Kudu after emerging as a national delegate for the upcoming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congress, Lamido condemned what he described as the dangerous politicization of government institutions and state agencies.

According to Lamido, the reported weaponization of federal agencies against political opponents not only tarnishes the image of the presidency but also poses a serious threat to the stability of the administration.

He accused President Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using state machinery to intimidate and weaken opposition forces ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Lamido warned that the misuse of executive power mirrors the behavior of authoritarian regimes and could lead to grave political consequences if unchecked.

The former governor urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against efforts to suppress dissent, emphasizing that truth, no matter how delayed, will eventually prevail.

“No matter how much the truth is suppressed, it will eventually prevail. History will hold everyone accountable,” Lamido said, signaling a defiant message to both the government and the public.
