AWKA, ANAMBRA – Following a period of notable leadership as Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha has been officially confirmed as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU). The appointment was made by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, and announced through a press release from his office.
The formal letter of appointment was presented to Professor Omenugha by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, at a ceremony in Awka. This confirmation comes after what the Governor’s office described as a rigorous and merit-based interview process.
During her time as Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Omenugha’s leadership was marked by significant institutional changes aimed at enhancing academic excellence and innovation at the university. This performance was a key factor in her official confirmation.
