A Chief Magistrate Court in Ifo, Ogun State, has sentenced popular singer Habeeb Olalomi Okikiola, known as Portable, to three months in prison.
The singer was convicted on Tuesday after being found guilty of assault and theft of musical instruments.
Portable was arraigned before the court in April 2023 on a three-count charge.

The charges include conspiracy to commit felony, unlawful assault on one Osimosu Emmanuel Oluwafemi, and theft of musical equipment belonging to an unnamed individual.
The stolen items include a Yamaha H55 studio monitor, a Studio 2 interface connection cable, and an AKG P420 condenser.
The incident reportedly occurred on November 18, 2022, at Okeosa, Ilogbo, within the Ifo Magisterial District.
Despite being granted bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties from his immediate family, Portable failed to appear at previous hearings, leading to his remand. He was eventually brought before the court and convicted.
Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo delivered the judgment, sentencing Portable to one month’s imprisonment with an option of a N10,000 fine for Count 1 (conspiracy to commit felony) and two months’ imprisonment with an option of a N20,000 fine for Count 2 (unlawful assault).
The court found Portable guilty of Counts 1 and 2 but did not convict him on Count 3 (theft of musical equipment). The sentence can be commuted to a N30,000 fine in total.
