Petition to Senator Monday Okpebholo

To His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Executive Governor of Edo State,

We, the undersigned youths of Orhionmwon, humbly bring to your attention a pressing concern regarding the forthcoming by-elections in our local government area. The recent nomination of elderly candidates, including a 77-year-old, Evans Okunrobo, to contest the elections without opposition in the primaries has sparked widespread discontent among our youth.

Our Concerns:

Taste the Goodness: EL Blends All-Natural Cold-Pressed Juices

– Lack of Representation: The nomination process seems to have overlooked the aspirations and potentials of Orhionmwon’s youthful population, denying them the opportunity to participate in the political process.
– Injustice: The imposition of elderly candidates without primaries undermines the principles of fairness and meritocracy, potentially leading to internal youth protests within the party.
– Disconnection from the Youth Demographic: With the average age of the nominees being significantly higher than that of the majority of the electorate, there’s a risk that the party’s ticket may not resonate with the needs and aspirations of the younger demographic.

Request to Your Excellency

In light of the above concerns and given your influential position as the Executive Governor of Edo State and APC gubernatorial candidate, we respectfully request:

– Intervention: We urge you to look into this matter and ensure that the party’s nomination process is fair, transparent, and inclusive of all demographics, particularly the youth.
– Review of Nomination Process: Consider reviewing the nomination process to accommodate more youthful candidates who can bring fresh perspectives and energy to governance.

Consequences of Inaction

Failure to address this issue may lead to ยน:
– Mass Defections: As witnessed in recent times, where prominent APC leaders and members, including grassroots mobilizers and chieftains, have defected to the PDP, citing internal crises and misrule.
– Internal Conflicts: Youths feeling marginalized may protest or withdraw support, potentially affecting the party’s performance in the elections.

We believe in your leadership and commitment to the development of Edo State. We look forward to your prompt action on this matter.

Sincerely,

Festus Ese
On behalf of the youths of Orhionmwon.
