Osun Monarch Suspends Chief Over Alleged Transformer Theft

In a developing story from Osun State, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has suspended one of his high chiefs, High Chief Busuyi Gbadamosi, the Oba Odo of Ilesa. The suspension follows the chief’s arrest in connection with the alleged theft of two electricity transformers.

 

According to sources, residents of the Araromi community in Ilesa filed a petition against Chief Gbadamosi with the Owa’s Panel on Conduct, Chieftaincy Matters, and Boundary Disputes. The residents alleged that the chief was responsible for the disappearance of the transformers, which were meant to serve their community.

Chief Gbadamosi has denied the allegations, claiming that the transformers were taken for repairs and he was only trying to assist the community. However, his suspension by the monarch is pending the outcome of the ongoing police investigation.

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Chief Gbadamosi, but no official statement has been released on the case as of yet.
