The Orlu Political Action Committee (OPAC) has issued a stern warning to gubernatorial aspirant Chima Matthew Amadi, declaring him persona non grata in Orlu zone and vowing to hold him accountable for any harm that might befall Collins Opurozor, an aide to Governor Hope Uzodimma.
In an emergency press conference held today in Orlu, OPAC’s Chairman, Chief Gideon Okeke, expressed grave concern over what he described as “disturbing revelations of stalking, harassment, and implied threats” directed at Opurozor following his rejection of financial inducements from Amadi’s campaign organization.
“The confession by Amadi’s associates that they have recruited people to monitor Mr. Opurozor’s movements represents a dangerous escalation that threatens the peace and security of our state,” Chief Okeke stated. “Imo State has suffered enough security challenges in recent years, and we cannot allow political desperation to create new security threats.”

The emergency meeting was attended by political stakeholders, youth activists, and community leaders from across the twelve local government areas that make up Orlu Senatorial Zone. OPAC’s decision follows yesterday’s explosive press statement by Collins Opurozor, in which he detailed alleged attempts by Amadi to recruit him through an intermediary named Blyden Amajirionwu.
According to Opurozor’s statement, which was backed by verifiable proofs, he was offered N100 million and a brand new SUV to join Amadi’s campaign for the 2027 governorship election.
“What is most concerning to us is not just the attempted bribery, which is bad enough, but the subsequent monitoring and surveillance of Mr. Opurozor after he rejected these advances,” said OPAC Secretary, Dr. Christopher Ofoegbu. “This represents a pattern of behavior incompatible with democratic norms and potentially threatens the safety of a public servant.”
The political action committee has consequently declared that Chima Amadi is no longer welcome in any part of Orlu zone for political consultations or campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We hereby declare that Mr. Chima Matthew Amadi is not welcome in any community within Orlu Senatorial Zone for political purposes. Any attempt by him to conduct political activities within our zone will be met with peaceful but firm resistance,” the committee announced in a communiqué signed by all executive members.
OPAC also called on security agencies to investigate the allegations of stalking and surveillance raised by Opurozor, stating that such behavior constitutes a potential threat to his safety and wellbeing. “We are putting Mr. Amadi and his organization on notice that the people of Orlu zone will hold him personally responsible should any harm come to Collins Opurozor. Political ambition should never translate to endangering the lives of those who decline to support you,” Chief Okeke emphasized.
The committee further criticized Amadi’s political approach, describing it as “mercenary politics” that relies on financial inducement rather than genuine connection with the electorate. “The revelation that Mr. Amadi may not even be able to find his way around basic locations in Imo State raises serious questions about his suitability to govern our state. We need leaders who understand our terrain, our challenges, and our aspirations because they have lived among us, not helicopter politicians who appear only during election cycles,” the OPAC statement read.
