VeryDarkMan vs EFCC: Activism is not a licence to immunity. An activist rather takes extra care to stay out of anything that could put them at loggerheads with the law.
GTB did not have an option not to obey a lawful directive instructing her to help security agencies detain an individual under their watch until their arrival to effect the arrest. In fact, if they had not helped the EFCC to effect this arrest, they would have been in some legal hot soup.
This is not peculiar to Nigeria or any other third world country. In the US, this last week, judges were taken into custody by the FBI for obstructing the arrest of some immigrants. If the Police or any security agency finds that a suspect is within your vicinity, they will instruct you to restrain the person with whatever you can, especially, if they are sure that you have the ability to do that. If you fail, you would be on the wrong side of the law.

VDM is a human being and a citizen. He is neither perfect nor above the law. He might have made some mistakes in his financial dealings or got a little careless in his activism. Rather than rushing to condemn the EFCC or the bank, we should inquire what his offence was.
The EFCC is not perfect, but they are rarely reckless like the Police. For them to have effected this arrest, something must be fishy. But, if it is eventually found out that they got their call wrong this time around, we will also call for adequate restitution to VDM.
