Offa LGA Debunks Fake Appointment Allegations, Warns Against Misinformation

The administration of Offa Local Government Area (LGA) in Kwara State has strongly refuted reports claiming the appointment of 64 Special Assistants and eight Supervisory Councillors, labeling the allegations as “false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public.”

In a statement released earlier today by Abiola Azeez Babatunde, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Omituntun, the council dismissed the claims, attributing them to a factional group known as Offa KOYA – Offa KOWOSI. The statement accused the group of spreading baseless rumors to distract the administration from its ongoing developmental efforts.

“At no time did this administration appoint such a number. These claims are not only false but also an orchestrated attempt to derail our focus on the progress and unity of Offa,” the statement emphasized.

The council suggested that internal disagreements within the factional group might be driving the circulation of unverified statements. It urged the group to adopt constructive criticism instead of resorting to propaganda.
