A leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) and two terms Member Of Representatives, Hon. Jelili Amusan has hailed the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and people of the state for hosting right of National Sports Festival (NSF) granted the state.

Amusan in a statement signed by himself in Abeokuta commended the robust preparations that have been on top gear, urging the state athletes to go for gold medal, so as to ensure a memorable fiesta.

The former lawmaker called on the public and private sectors to actively contribute to Nigerian sports development, particularly in infrastructure expansion, talent identification, athletes nurturing and sponsorship of sporting events.

“Indeed, the present National Sports Festival will provide a great avenue for economic boost for the state, ‘Gateway state’ and it will also provide opportunities for both the indigenes and aliens athletes to showcase the skills.” Amusan said.

He urged the present administration-led by Prince Dapo Abiodun to ensure that the state is hosting to win gold medals in the competition, urging the state contingents to make the state proud, by winning gold medals in most competitions.

“In fact, we need to motivate the state’s contingents of athletes across the board and officials, so as to enable them achieve a laudable objectives of the festivals,” Amusan pleaded

Amusan further congratulated Hon. Kunle Soname and Remo Stars Football Club for the historic feat of winning the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), lauded the resilience, focus, and the never-say-die attitude of the players and officials of Remo Football Club for winning the league.

He noted that the determination of the club and its officials shows the characteristics trademark of what the state was known for, advised the team and officials to be more dedicated for a greater challenges ahead of them.

He called for early and robust preparation for the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League competition which Remo Stars has qualified for, noted that the Club could excel to bring greater glory to the state and Nigeria as a whole.
