The Dormaa West, East, and Central campaign Coordinator for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, who also serves as a Bono Regional Member of the Kennedy Agyapong campaign team, Mr. Eric kwabena Yeboah (Sir Newton), has characterized Hon. Kennedy Agyapong as the most popular political figure in the country, particularly among the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate aspirants. He asserts that none of the candidates can claim to be more popular than Kennedy Agyapong as far as the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries are concerned.
He stated that Kennedy Agyapong gained recognition in Ghana politics before the 2008 general elections, a time when Dr. Bawumia became actively engaged in politics.
He Emphasized that Kennedy Agyapong’s 24-year tenure as a Member of Parliament and his extensive campaigning efforts across the country for the party make him known by almost every Ghanaian in this country. Mr. Newton argues that Kennedy Agyapong’s popularity as a politician is unparalleled by any other political figure in the country hence it is imperative for delegates to vote for him to lead the party for the 2028 general elections to win the presidential seat for the NPP.

Mr. Eric Kwabena Yeboah elucidated the significance of maintaining regional balance in the distribution of political appointments by a president as stipulated in the 1992 constitution, as well as in the country’s presidential election history. He emphasized that the Presidents of the nation should not consistently originate from a single region to ensure equitable allocation of developmental projects throughout the nation.
He presented numerous examples of historical voting patterns concerning presidents and their regions of origin, highlighting that there has never been a continuous instance where one region has exclusively produced presidents from both leading political parties. He underscored the potential risks for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if Dr. Bawumia, from the northern part of Ghana is chosen to succeeds President Mahama, also from the northern part of Ghana, given the historical patterns of electing presidents in the country.
He therefore urged the NPP delegates to exercise due diligence in choosing their flag bearer by selecting Ken Agyapong as the party’s flag bearer to enhance the NPP’s chances of securing victory in the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Eric Kwabena Yeboah stated that since the commencement of campaign activities for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s presidential ambitions, there has been a growing enthusiasm among Ghanaians for him to assume the presidency. Citing his business acumen as a pivotal factor, many believe that he can foster business creation and employment opportunities. Additionally, his disciplined approach is seen as essential for ensuring that awarded contracts are executed successfully without any corrupt practices. Given these attributes, it is incumbent upon the NPP to present him as their Presidential candidate to secure victory and guide the nation towards progress and development.
