With this accomplishment, she officially earns the prestigious title of U.S. Navy Sailor and has taken the oath of allegiance, marking her transition to becoming a citizen of the United States.

Bassey shared the inspiring news on her Instagram page on Monday, expressing gratitude and dedicating the achievement to her late father, Naval Commander Asido Bassey Effah.
In her words:
“Last week, I graduated from the U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States. This journey wasn’t easy — but I carried my roots, my faith, and my vision every step of the way. Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever.”
The actress also thanked her supporters, adding, “This is just the beginning. In honour of my late father – Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah.”
Sharing heartfelt moments from her Navy graduation ceremony, Bassey revealed that she even joined the Navy choir to remain connected to her passion for performance. She concluded by saying, “I am eternally grateful. Proudly a U.S. Sailor.”
