Accra, Ghana – A new book on volunteerism, authored by Mr. Dennis Agyei Boateng, is set to spark a national conversation about the power of selfless service.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Boateng unveiled the driving force behind his timely publication: the belief that volunteerism holds the key to alleviating some of Ghana’s most pressing issues, particularly in education and environmental conservation.

Mr. Agyei Boateng underscored that volunteerism offers more than just a service; it’s a powerful tool for individual empowerment. He pointed to the recent discussion by the Health Minister regarding re-engaging retired nurses, suggesting that a well-structured national volunteer program could have proactively addressed healthcare staffing needs.
His vision extends to incorporating volunteerism into national development plans, fostering sustainable solutions rather than short-term fixes.
By empowering the youth through volunteerism, Mr. Boateng believes they can become active participants in solving national issues, leading to more lasting impact.
Adding to the momentum, Miss Prisca Sedinam Kekeshie, Deputy CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), expressed her profound enthusiasm at the book’s launch.
Miss Kekeshie, a proud product of volunteerism herself, shared her delight with the media.
She passionately emphasized that volunteerism brings comfort as it allows individuals to contribute to their communities and national development without solely expecting monetary rewards.

Miss Kekeshie urged young people to see volunteerism not as a burden but as a valuable opportunity to gain experience, build careers, and make a positive impact. She believes that by embracing volunteerism, the youth can cultivate a strong sense of purpose and responsibility, ultimately contributing significantly to the growth and development of their communities and the nation.
