In a recent courtesy visit that highlighted a potential new partnership, the Lagos State Command of the Peace Corps of Nigeria commended the Executive Chairman of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, for her exemplary leadership. The meeting, which took place at the chairman’s office, focused on a collaborative effort to promote youth empowerment, community service, and security within the area.
Leading the delegation, the State Commandant, Patriot Dr. Badmus Akeem Abayomi, praised Hon. Akindele for her outstanding work and recent electoral victory. He hailed her as a shining example of purposeful governance whose record inspires young people and women across Lagos. Dr. Abayomi also presented a formal letter of appreciation, extending gratitude on behalf of the National Commandant and the youths of Mosan-Okunola.

* Uniforms, kits, and band sets for officers.
* Recruitment opportunities for local youths.
The Peace Corps also appealed to Hon. Akindele to consider becoming a patron of the organization, noting her leadership would significantly enhance their activities and community service. Dr. Abayomi emphasized that these resources would enable the Corps to better serve residents and support the government’s grassroots efforts.
Chairman Akindele’s Response and Commitment to Partnership
In her remarks, Hon. Akindele assured the Peace Corps delegation that she would review their requests. She also discussed the Corps’ recruitment process and highlighted some of her administration’s ongoing projects for the benefit of local residents.
Hon. Akindele confirmed her commitment to working with the Corps, stating, “We will work together, and it will make my job easier in curbing lateness to school and truancy among pupils and students in both government and private schools within the LCDA.”
