Nollywood actress and body positivity advocate, Monalisa Stephen, has passed away in Lagos on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after suffering from low blood sugar and internal bleeding.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday by the Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON), Seun Oloketuyi.

Monalisa Stephen was known for her outspoken views on body image, mental health, and self-love. She often used her platforms as a model, content creator, and media personality to speak about her past struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts.

Born on March 13, 1992, Monalisa was also a fashion designer and stylist. She began her modeling career at the age of 19 and was a vocal advocate for body positivity, challenging body shaming and promoting self-love, particularly for plus-size women.
