OSISIOMA NGWA, ABIA STATE – In a significant move to tackle the perennial water scarcity plaguing the Akpaa Amaugba community, Hon. Iheanacho Nwogu, the representative for the Osisioma Ngwa North constituency, has commenced the drilling of a new borehole. The project, which began today, is a direct response to the long-standing pleas of residents who have endured hardship due to a lack of access to clean water.

Hon. Nwogu, popularly known as “Hon. Chocho,” initiated the project to provide a sustainable solution to the community’s water challenges. The borehole is seen as a crucial step in ensuring that residents have a reliable source of water for daily use, which will improve their quality of life and health.

According to his Director-General, Hon. Grant Nwankwo, the initiative is a testament to responsive and grassroots-centered leadership. “This project is a direct response to the voices of our people,” Hon. Victor Ngwakwe, the Leader of the Osisioma Ngwa Legislative Council, stated that the borehole is part of a series of ongoing development initiatives planned by the legislative body to support their constituents. “More are coming,” he assured residents.
Chief Obiajunwa Onyeze, the Chairman of all ward chairmen for the Labour Party in Osokwa, underscored the project’s importance. “Water is essential to life and health,” he said. “This borehole will provide much-needed relief to the people of Akpaa Amaugba, and its timing is perfect.” He also indicated that the community would reciprocate this gesture of support.
