Ilorin, Kwara State – The PDP Unifier Group (PUG) in Kwara State has announced the commencement of a comprehensive membership registration exercise across all wards, effective Saturday, May 17, 2025. The group is urging all Kwarans to seize this opportunity to register with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a critical step towards ushering in what they describe as “responsive governance” and dislodging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
In a press release issued on Friday, May 16, 2025, the PUG leadership, through its Director of Media and Publicity, Arc. Ismail Temitope Abdulrazaq, stated that the registration drive is a “golden opportunity for all Kwarans who yearn for responsible governance to actively participate in the political process that will ultimately liberate our dear state from the shackles of the current administration’s incompetence.”

Arc. Ayuba Musbau Kawu, the Convener of PUG, has directed all members to ensure their registration. Ward Coordinators have been designated as Mobilization Officers for the exercise, with the State Secretary, Alhaji Mustapha Al-Mubarak, appointed as the State Monitoring Officer to oversee its seamless execution.
The PUG leadership sharply criticized the current APC government in Kwara State, alleging “wasteful expenditure, failed promises, and gross mismanagement of our collective resources” over the past six years. “Our once-thriving state has been reduced to a shadow of its former self, with critical sectors like healthcare, education, infrastructure, and agriculture suffering unprecedented neglect,” the statement read.
The group further accused the administration of engaging in “frivolous projects that bear no impact on the lives of ordinary citizens” while Kwarans grapple with “escalating hardship.”
The PDP Unifier Group is appealing to a broad spectrum of the populace, including “market women, artisans, civil servants, farmers, students, professionals, and indeed all citizens who desire positive change,” to register and become “stakeholders in the political process.” They emphasized that registering is “not merely filling out a form” but “making a bold statement about your commitment to Kwara’s redemption and restoration to its rightful place among progressive states in Nigeria.”
To ensure a smooth registration process, PUG has deployed trained personnel to all wards, equipped with necessary materials. The group assured participants of a “transparent, inclusive, and orderly exercise that respects the dignity of every Kwaran.”
Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and holistic development of Kwara State, the PDP Unifier Group highlighted the PDP’s “rich history of transformative governance” and expressed readiness to replicate and surpass past achievements if given the mandate in 2027.
The statement concluded with a strong call to action: “The journey to reclaiming our dear state begins with your registration tomorrow – be part of history, be part of the solution.” The press release was jointly E-signed by Comr. Yusuf Bolakale Isalekoto, National President, PDP Unifier Group, and Comr. Umar Abubakar (Omoga), Coordinator, Kwara State PDP Unifier Group.
