LAGOS, NIGERIA – – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims circulating online regarding the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), transfer of voter registration, and the replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs).
In a press statement released on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, the electoral body explicitly stated that no date has been fixed for these activities to recommence.
INEC urged the general public to disregard a purported anonymous statement that has been making rounds, falsely asserting that the CVR and related services would resume on May 27th, 2025.

Furthermore, INEC assured that comprehensive details regarding the resumption would be shared through its official social media platforms.
This clarification comes amidst growing anticipation from citizens regarding the continuation of the voter registration process.
INEC’s swift response aims to dispel any misinformation and ensure the public relies on credible sources for updates on electoral activities.
