Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo Leads Inspection of Storm-Ravaged Areas in Ilorin South

In a swift response to the recent rainstorm that caused significant damage in parts of Ilorin South Local Government, the Executive Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Council, Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, led an inspection team to assess the extent of destruction across several affected communities.

 

Accompanied by the Secretary of the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr. Mashood Magaji, and the Honorable Councilor representing Akanbi Ward V, Hon. Atanda Rihanat, the team visited areas including Ogidi, Olomoda Community, Ajibesin Area, Sango Area, and Oke-Adinni.

The storm had left a trail of devastation, including roof damage, collapsed walls, and destroyed properties affecting homes, shops, and a mosque.

During the visit, the team interacted with residents, offered words of encouragement, and assured them of the government’s readiness to provide necessary support.

One of the victims, expressing gratitude for the visit, said, “We sincerely appreciate the Executive Chairman for coming down to see things for himself. We also plead with His Excellency, Mall. AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq, the Executive Governor, to kindly intervene and assist us during this trying time.”

 

Another affected resident prayed for the continuous success of both the Executive Chairman and the Governor, noting their responsiveness and dedication to the welfare of the people.
