On 15th April 2025, during the confirmation ceremony of the Municipal Chief Executive at the East Gonja Municipal Assembly Hall, the Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, made a heartfelt and bold commitment to help resolve the persistent water crisis at Salaga Senior High School (SASS). True to her word and in line with her reputation as a “Talk and Do” Mama-she has already taken concrete steps to deliver on that promise.
Through her strong network and collaboration with a development-focused NGO, Hon. Hajia Zuwera has successfully facilitated the construction of a modern mechanised borehole for the school. This critical project is expected to be commissioned and officially handed over to SASS in the coming days. Once completed, the school’s students will finally gain reliable access to clean and safe drinking water- marking the end of precious time spent searching for water during school hours.

This intervention is not an isolated effort. In just this year alone, the MP has overseen the construction of 15 boreholes across the constituency, the majority of which are mechanised. These projects reflect her determination to improving access to clean water- one of the most essential needs of her constituents.

For the students of SASS, the borehole is more than just project. It is a lifeline- restoring precious study time, reducing health risks, and offering dignity in their daily lives. It is a clear demonstration of what leadership, compassion, and action can achieve when combined.
Access to safe water remains a top priority for Hon. Hajia Zuwera, and she continues to work closely with government agencies and development partners, including NGOs, to address the broader water and sanitation needs of Salaga-South.
Her constituents fondly call her “Talk and Do Mama”, and this latest achievement stands as yet another powerful testament to that well-earned title.
May Allah continue to bless her efforts and guide her work towards lasting impact and progress for all the people of Salaga-South.
