In a solemn moment of grief and unity, the Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, joined the chiefs, elders, and people of Naamu to mourn the passing of Mr. Johnson Kidignan Yanjel- a respected community figure, a devoted member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and a father whose calm strength left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
The late Mr. Yanjel, who served diligently as the NDC Branch Organizer for Naamu, was more than just a father and political figure. He was a quiet force of wisdom – resolute, dependable, and deeply rooted in service to his community.

Hon. Hajia Zuwera, visibly moved, described him as “a personal friend,” recalling his humility and unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the party and the development of Naamu.
“When I entered the community yesterday to commiserate with the family, I knew the NDC had lost a stalwart. For the first time, I entered Naamu and Mr. Johnson was not standing at the roadside to receive us. Every single time I came into this community, he was always there with a very broad smile to welcome me,” she said during the church service at Naamu.
The MP stressed that she has lost a personal friend but has been left with a daughter – Madam Patience Kidigna, who will forever remain her daughter.
His passing is not only a personal loss to the Kidignan family but also a significant one to the NDC family and the entire Naamu community.
The MP extended her deepest condolences to his wife, brothers, and children – especially Madam Patience Kidignan, who serves faithfully in her office as an Administrative Assistant.
In these trying times, Hon. Zuwera pledged her continued support to the family, standing with them in sorrow and in prayer. She also promised to wear the shoes of the late Mr. Johnson by assisting in the care of his children, especially Luisa and Nathaniel.
The Honourable MP admonished the people to emulate the life Mr. Johnson lived – a life of peace, humility, and dedicated service.
The elder brother of the late Mr. Johnson, Pastor Job Ntelabi, on behalf of the family and the people of Naamu, thanked the MP for her support during the funeral. He further applauded the MP’s entourage, describing it as the most powerful delegation ever witnessed in the history of the community during funeral ceremonies.
Hon. Zuwera attended the funeral ceremony with a powerful delegation comprising the Honourable Municipal Chief Executive for East Gonja, Hon. Kassim Yazid Rabiu, current and former Constituency Executives of the NDC, branch executives and ward coordinators from the Konkomba Ward, party elders, and staff from the Office of the MP.
