Grassroots Development: Ogun Council Unveils 22 Projects

Odeda Local Government Council Area of Ogun state, has executed 22 projects for needy communities at the grassroots, in line with the transformation agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

 

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, during the commissioning highlighted the role played by the State Government at providing all Local Government Chairmen the much needed input to make impact in their respective communities.

“It is worthy of note that the transformation in Odeda Local Government and 19 others is an indication of the responsiveness of the Governor Abiodun-led administration in the State. Now that the Local Government is fulfilling its mandate, the best you can do as beneficiaries is to show gratitude by maintaining government facilities, and remain dedicated in your support for the Government,โ€ he said.

Leading the team during the exercise, Hamzat commissioned the renovated Community and Social Development Department block in the Secretariat; two motorised boreholes in Ika Titun and Osiele market; a renovated blocks of 2 classrooms and offices in Ilupeju Alagbede, a renovated Local Government Marriage Registry in Odo-Eran, and a newly built block of two classrooms, office and toilet in Baptist primary School, Iyana Abibu, among others.

 

Earlier in her address, Chairman, Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo stated that some of the projects were long overdue as past administrations had promised without fulfillment.

“The projects so far executed across Odeda Local Government Area are twenty-two and they were all designed in line with the need in respective communities,” she added.

Speaking on behalf of the benefitting communities, Baale, Falabi and the Baale, Anumarun communities, Mutairu Sodiya and Jamiu Adebayo respectively expressed satisfaction at the gesture which has redefined life in their communities, promising to sustain their support for the Government.

 

The Commissioning event also had in attendance the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Rasak Daddah, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi among other dignitaries.
