Government to support Youths in National Apprenticeship Program – PRU East MP

Pru East MP Raises Alarm Over Youth Selling Property to Migrate, Calls for Action on Missing Victims

The Honorable Member of Parliament for Pru East, Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, proudly announced the government’s latest initiative to support Ghana’s youth through the National Apprenticeship Program. This flagship project aims to equip young Ghanaians with industry-relevant skills.

Speaking to the media, Hon. Boam highlighted a pressing concern: many youth study entrepreneurship at universities and tertiary institutions like Kumasi Technical University and the University of Education, yet still face unemployment. He emphasized that entrepreneurship students should focus on creating their own job opportunities rather than searching for employment.

He further emphasized the need to incorporate the National Apprenticeship Program and entrepreneurship education into school curriculum nationwide. By doing so, students would acquire valuable skills, fostering self-employment opportunities and a brighter future.

In his conclusion, the MP for Pru East emphasized the need to provide opportunities for local artisans to repair firearms used by security agencies.

He noted that Ghana had a history of manufacturing guns before the influence of Western culture, and reviving this industry could be a valuable entrepreneurial venture. By licensing local artisans to repair and potentially manufacture firearms, the government could support economic development and self-sufficiency.
