FG Warns Public About Fake School Feeding Award Letters and Payment Scams

The Federal Government has issued a strong warning to the public, distancing itself from fraudulent award letters and payment requests being circulated in connection with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s School Feeding program.

 

On Wednesday, the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on School Feeding alerted the public that dishonest individuals are deceiving unsuspecting people as part of their illegal activities.
In a statement, Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on School Feeding, urged stakeholders and the general public to be vigilant regarding this concerning new trend.

“We want to inform everyone that some individuals and organizations are fraudulently issuing fake awards and asking for payments to personal bank accounts, all while falsely claiming to represent the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on School Feeding,” Dr. Adeniji stated.

She firmly declared, “We want to make it absolutely clear that the Office of the SSAP on School Feeding does not charge any fees for awards, recognitions, or any form of engagement.”

 

Dr. Adeniji further emphasized, “We never request individuals or organizations to make payments into personal accounts for any reason related to our programs or activities.”

She advised that “any request for payment or offers of awards made in our name should be treated with extreme caution” and urged anyone encountering suspicious activities or requests to report them to law enforcement agencies.

 

“We appreciate your cooperation and vigilance in helping us address this issue,” Dr. Adeniji concluded.
