ACCRA, GHANA – The United Fetish Priest Association (UFPA) has vehemently defended Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, amidst calls for his dismissal. These calls follow reports that Gyamfi gifted $800 to Evangelist Patricia Asiedu Asiamah, also known as Nana Agraada, at a public event.
The President of the UFPA, Nana Mosi Bansere, addressed critics in a statement, questioning the basis for demanding Gyamfi’s removal. “What crime did Sammy Gyamfi commit? He gave Agraada $800, so he should be sacked?” Nana Mosi Bansere retorted.

Drawing parallels to alleged instances of vote buying by politicians, Nana Mosi Bansere stated, “We saw some politicians who bought cars, fridges, TV sets, and paid huge amounts of monies to some delegates to support their candidature during both internal and the 2024 general election, yet we were quiet. So why do you want Sammy Gyamfi to be crucified?”

The UFPA President explicitly denied any wrongdoing on Gyamfi’s part, asserting, “Sammy Gyamfi did not bribe Nana Agraada, so shut up and mind your own business.”
Speaking to the media, Nana Mosi Bansere argued that neither Sammy Gyamfi nor Nana Agraada committed any crime, emphasizing that the exchange occurred at a public event, not a secret meeting. He further highlighted Gyamfi’s financial capacity to gift such an amount.
In a direct appeal to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Mosi Bansere advised against dismissing Sammy Gyamfi, suggesting it would not be in the party’s best interest.
