Congressman's Family Drugged, Robbed by Newly-Hired Help

Noida, India – A chilling incident has unfolded in Anand Nagar, leaving a prominent political family shaken and authorities scrambling. Just weeks after being hired, a domestic help couple allegedly orchestrated a brazen robbery at the residence of Indian Congressman Sandeep Chaudhary, drugging his mother and wife before making off with valuables.

According to reports, the couple, identified as Kajal and Bharat, had only been working as cooks for Chaudhary’s family for a mere 15 days. In a shocking breach of trust, preliminary investigations suggest they laced the morning tea served to Chaudhary’s 75-year-old mother, Krishna, and 43-year-old wife, Mamta, with sedatives on Wednesday, May 14th.

Once the women were unconscious, the duo allegedly summoned two unidentified accomplices. Together, the four individuals are said to have ransacked the house, stealing jewelry and cash before fleeing the scene. Thankfully, Congressman Chaudhary’s two children, who were also present, were unharmed.

The horrifying situation came to light when Congressman Chaudhary, who was out of town, became concerned after being unable to reach his mother and wife by phone. He alerted his daughter, who rushed to their room to find both women unconscious.

Disturbing details emerging from the initial investigation indicate a possible struggle. Authorities reportedly found signs of resistance, including bloodstains and evidence of vomiting, suggesting one of the victims may have fought back as her jewelry was being forcibly removed. The entire ordeal, from the moment the women lost consciousness to the suspects’ escape, is estimated to have taken place within a swift 45-minute window.

Police are currently pursuing Kajal, Bharat, and their two accomplices. Crucially, investigators have secured CCTV footage capturing the couple’s entry and exit from the residence, along with their identification details and photographs provided by the placement agency that facilitated their hiring just two weeks prior. The couple had reportedly worked in Gujarat before their recent employment in Noida.

This shocking incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities families can face and raises serious questions about the vetting processes for domestic staff. As the investigation continues, the community awaits answers and hopes for the swift apprehension of those responsible for this heinous crime.
