Celebrating Nafisa Abdullah Aminu: A Shining Star from Yobe

The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership proudly congratulates Miss Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a 17-year-old student of Nigeria Tulip International College (NTIC), Yobe, for emerging World Best in English Language Skills at the prestigious 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London.

Nafisa’s outstanding performance, outshining over 20,000 students from more than 60 countries, is a testament to the intellectual potential and excellence that abounds in Northern Nigeria. Her victory is not only a personal triumph but a national achievement that has once again placed Nigeria, and particularly Yobe State, in the global spotlight for academic excellence.

“We sincerely commend the Government of Yobe State for its continued investment in education and youth development. Nafisa’s success story is a direct result of an enabling environment created by visionary leadership in the state. We encourage the Yobe State Government to sustain and expand such efforts, ensuring that more young talents like Nafisa are discovered and nurtured.”

“We also use this moment to urge all Northern Nigerian governors and leaders to make deliberate and increased investments in education. The North is home to brilliant and capable youth but often lacks the media machinery and strategic promotion to spotlight our achievements. Our problem is not intelligence but visibility.”

“To those who claim that Northern Nigeria is lagging behind in education, Nafisa’s success is a firm and elegant rebuttal. We are not just educated, we are exceptional. We may not engage in loud propaganda, but our achievements speak louder than words. Let us recall the legacy of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nigeria’s first Prime Minister, an iconic Northerner who stood for education, intellect, and humility.”

We also appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government for prioritizing education. As we celebrate Nafisa, we strongly call on the Federal Government to recognize and reward her, not just as a brilliant student, but as a female trailblazer who has made Nigeria proud on the global stage.

“Miss Nafisa Abdullah Aminu deserves national recognition, sponsorship, and academic reward, including scholarship opportunities and ambassadorial roles that can inspire other young girls across the country.

“Finally, we call on development partners, the private sector, and media stakeholders to amplify such stories and invest more in educational advancement, especially in the Northern region. These are the real narratives that will rebuild confidence, unity, and national pride.”

Congratulations, Nafisa! You are a beacon of hope and a true daughter of the North.

Signed,
Amb. Abdul Danbature
