HON. CHIEF DR. BILLY ADESUWA OSAWARU HAS NOT ENDORSED HON. ANTHONY OJO’S SENATORIAL ASPIRATION.

The attention of Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Adesuwa Osawaru, Member representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, has been drawn to a viral post titled “Esan Have Decided; Esan Deserves The Best…” currently circulating on social media platforms. The post features a photograph of Hon. Osawaru and Hon. Anthony Ojo in a handshake, which has been misconstrued as an endorsement of Hon. Ojo’s senatorial aspiration.

We wish to categorically state that Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Adesuwa Osawaru has not endorsed Hon. Anthony Ojo for any political office. The use of that image for campaign purposes is misleading and unacceptable. Hon. Osawaru strongly condemns the unauthorized and deceptive use of his image and considers such action mischievous. He hereby demands an immediate retraction of the post.

For the avoidance of doubt, the referenced photograph was taken on Thursday, 29th May 2025, at the premises of the Court of Appeal following the judgment that upheld the election victory of His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo. The atmosphere was a celebratory one, with numerous party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters exchanging greetings and congratulations. The image in question was one of many taken during that occasion and should not be misconstrued as a political endorsement.

Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Adesuwa Osawaru unequivocally dissociates himself from any form of false representation or political propaganda using his image. As a committed member of the party, he remains loyal to its processes and will support the eventual candidate nominated by the party for the Edo Central Senatorial District by-election.

At present, Hon. Osawaru remains focused on his legislative duties and on delivering the dividends of purposeful and effective representation to the people of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode.
