As campaigns officially kick off for the November 8th Anambra governorship election, a prominent voice within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Evang. Chinedu Obigwe, has launched a scathing attack on one of Governor Charles Soludo’s challengers, Nicholas Ukachukwu.
Obigwe, the National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, unequivocally stated that voting for Ukachukwu would be “tantamount to saying vote for an empty vessel that has nothing to offer Anambra people.”
In a strongly worded statement released today, Obigwe asserted that “nobody in his or her right senses will say vote for Nicholas Ukachukwu because he is an undisputed empty vessel that has nothing to offer Anambra people.” He further claimed that Ukachukwu “knows nothing about governance.”

Obigwe delved into Ukachukwu’s political past, recalling his tenure in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003.
According to Obigwe, Ukachukwu was “more of a deaf and dumb legislator,” a performance he attributes to Ukachukwu’s consistent inability to win any election in Anambra since 2003.
“He is a regular customer in the business of election contest in Anambra but has never won any because Anambra electorates know about his woeful performance as a legislator in FCT,” Obigwe declared, dismissing Ukachukwu as “not a match for Governor Soludo on issues of governance.”
In stark contrast, Obigwe heaped praises on Governor Soludo, highlighting his perceived competence and track record. He referenced an unnamed APC Governor who reportedly acknowledged learning about good governance from Governor Soludo. Obigwe also pointed out that even before his election as governor, Professor Soludo was invited by APC Governors to lecture them on state governance.
“Now that Anambra people gave him their mandate to govern them, they will not allow a nonentity and a complete empty vessel called Nicholas Ukachukwu that has nothing to offer them to cut short the good work he is doing in our State,” Obigwe emphasized.
He even suggested that Anambra people are praying for a constitutional amendment to allow Soludo to serve more than two terms due to his performance.
Obigwe asserted that “No Governor since the history of our State creation can boast of doing what Governor Soludo has done in our State.” He went as far as to say that Soludo is effectively “contesting the November 8th governorship election unopposed,” branding Ukachukwu’s campaign as a mere attempt to “recoup the money he spent in hijacking APC ticket and also make some gains through the money he is expecting APC Governors to donate.”
The APGA chieftain also highlighted Governor Soludo’s upcoming lecture at “The Platform” event in Lagos on June 12, 2025 (Democracy Day), noting his consistent invitation to the prestigious forum as a testament to his expertise. He concluded by urging Ukachukwu to “accept this reality and stop dwelling in self-deceit,” stating that “shoe has size.”
Obigwe firmly reiterated his belief that Governor Soludo’s first term achievements justify his re-election, declaring, “As long as the November 8th governorship election is concerned, it is Prof Soludo for Governor till March 17th 2030 or nothing.”
